Here you will find news, current events and a discussion of various religious topics from Canon Charles Nalls, currently serving at Church of the Epiphany, Amherst, Virginia. Epiphany is a vibrant church with traditional Anglo-Catholic liturgy and music. We follow an the ancient Christian ethos of “les orandi, lex credendi”, which means as “we pray, so we believe.” To worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness is that manner of prayer-belief, and our work is to redeem the time for God and to bring the unalloyed Word and His Sacraments to a wounded world.
Above all, Church of the Epiphany is a prayerful, family-oriented community where the faith-once delivered to the saints is taken seriously and without compromise to the tides, fancies and whims of the secular culture. We stand firmly for a culture of life from natural beginning to natural end, and resist the notion that the Gospel may be changed or altered to suit popular tastes and moral preferences. Cathedral Close takes its name from to the series of buildings that serve as appendages to a cathedral. These may include buildings housing diocesan offices, schools, free-standing chapels associated with a cathedral, and the houses of clergy with the cathedral. The Rev. Canon Charles H. Nalls authors this blog, and ay opinions expressed here are solely his own or those of individual authors, although we do try not to be “original”!
